Innovating with Diversity

Conference arranged by Innoversity and CBS

Tuesday, June 12, 2007 - 09:00 to 18:00

Conference arranged by Innoversity and CBS.

INNOVATING WITH DIVERSITY is back with a new innovation conference in Copenhagen, DK, dedicated to helping more organisations and companies learn how to innovate with diversity. This conference is about how to benefit from and make use of diversity to increase innovation performance! By participating in this conference, you will learn how!

We offer you a peak into the best of experiences and the best of research as to how your organisation can benefit from diversity - and avoid homogeneity - in your innovation performance.

The keynote speakers are:

NIKE (US): Brent Costner will talk about how to innovate through highly diverse partnerships (such as a contact lens producer)

INNOVATION LEADERSHIP FORUM (UK): Bettina von Stamm will give us the latest insights from 24 top innovators on how to innovate - with and without diversity

MIT - SLOAN SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT (US): Peter A. Gloor will share with us how we can all benefit from diversity in collaborative innovation networks

LIFESTRAW (Z): Mikkel Vestergaard Frandsen will show us how they managed to innovate one of the most talked-about breakthrough innovations for third world

INNOVERSITY + CBS (DK): Susanne Justesen will for the first time share her PhD findings from studying innovation at Arla, DR, Jyske Bank, Lego, Leo Pharma and Novozymes.

DUKE UNIVERSITY (US): Professor Jonathon Cummings will discuss how to innovate with international teams and networks, and benefit from such diversity

ARTIST MARTIN HALL (DK) describes how he is cross-fertilizing between the artistic genres of music, literature, visual arts and performances.

The speakers at INNOVATING WITH DIVERSITY will show you how homogeneity is one of the biggest threats to innovation, as it tends to sneak in on us when we expect it the least: EVEN in our innovation efforts! And this is an important challenge since Innovation thrives on diversity of thought, diversity of knowledge, and diversity of thinking – and is therefore easily killed off by homogeneity!

INNOVATING WITH DIVERSITY will therefore install warning mechanisms into your organisational system, to help you fight homogeneity in innovation, and none the least, provide you with meaningful insights into how you can benefit from diversity in your own quest for innovation.

The conference is non-profit and organised by Susanne Justeseen around the findings from her PhD project. If you would like to know more, please contact Susanne Justesen at susanne@innoversity.org.
