"Co-existence of institutional logics – empirical study of music industry."

Abstract: The paper builds on institutional theory of isomorphism (DiMaggio and Powell 1983) looking in particular at the definition of institution, field and institutional logic showing how the use of these first two terms has limited our understanding of fields as to include only one (static) institution and a dominant organisational structure.

The paper suggests that by shifting the emphasis from institution to institutional logics as determinant of organisational structure we can introduce co-existence of value systems and beliefs in a field and thus two or more organisational structures derived from these.
