The main focus of interest of Dr. Sheremetyeva’s research is in designing and acquiring the knowledge for natural language processing in a variety of natural languages. But her research interests range even wider and include several areas of natural language processing - notably, but not exclu¬sively, sublanguage analy¬sis, machine translation, multilingual text generation, information retrieval, text summarization and knowledge elicitation.

For several years Dr. Sheremetyeva has been a highly valuable contact person in CBS’s international collaboration with Southern Ural State University, not only by taking on advanced courses at the CBS, but also in pursuing the ambitious goal of developing a Danish-English-Russian machine translation system.
