Orchestrating Clusters – Is There a Way?

Conference at CBS arranged by DEA

Thursday, June 7, 2007 - 09:30 to 17:00

Conference at CBS arranged by DEA, Danmarks Erhvervsforskningsakademi.

“Orchestrating Clusters – Is There a Way?” is an event that will bring together experts and practitioners in the field of cluster policies and management from all over Europe.

Today clusters have been adopted as an important tool to foster growth and regional business development through various strategies and action plans. These initiatives all seek to lead and organize clusters. Still, the theoretical background for these cluster management activities is weak and is usually to be found in the organisational litterature. That is why we need much more knowledge on leading and orhestrating clusters in order to unleash the full potential of clusters.

The conference provides insights to cluster management and starts a debate with a main focus on:

– What is cluster management and can it be considered as a theoretical discipline?

– What does cluster management include and how does it unfold?

– What do we know and which research areas are needed to be put forward?

Thus, the conference is organized with two aims. To bring awareness of the concept of cluster management at a regional, national and EU-level as a new potential business development tool. And to provide new insights and exchange information about what research is needed to provide decisionmakers with the right tools in order to manage and implement the best possible tools in the regions.
