Guest lecture on The Presidency of George W. Bush by George C. Edwards III

George W. Bush is often described as a ‘polarizing president’. As Michael Moore’s films suggest, some Americans are bitterly opposed to the Bush administration and its policies. At the same time, others – particularly in the American ‘heartland’ – regard the president with respect and admiration. In this lecture, George C. Edwards III, Distinguished Professor of Political Science at TexasA&MUniversity and currently Olin Professor of American Government and Professorial Fellow at NuffieldCollege, Oxford, will be assessing the Bush record and asking if the president really is as divisive as it often appears.
