Professor Heshaam Faili reports on some innovations and experiments in Machine Translation System between English and Persian (formal language of Iran) in both rule-based and statistical approaches, automatic language-free WordNet construction, automatic parallel corpus generations, and experiments on bridging between a hand-crafted and statistically trained English grammar and its usage in MT. The session will be more in-depth on MT and WordNet subjects.
