The department of Marketing at CBS is investing in a new central field of research: “Decision Neuroscience”

It is a pleasure to invite you to a double program:Thursday, 28 August 2008, from 1.30 pm to 4 pm

Afterwards the official program CBS will host a reception. Welcome by Finn Junge-Jensen, CBS President

PART ONE – 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm

1. “Neuroscience and advertising - problems and probabilities” by visiting professor Erik du Plessis, CEO Millward Brown South Africa.

Du Plessis is a well known international researcher concerned with advertising and the human brain. His book “The Advertised Mind” has won international acceptance.

Du Plessis will talk about the way in which the brain is functioning and implications of how we look at advertising and adverting planning.

2. Professor Olaf Paulson director of Rigshospitalet, The Danish Research Center for Magnetic Resonance.

Professor Olaf Paulson will talk about contemporary methodologies used in the studies of the human brain, particularly functional magnetic resonance imaging and the use of these techniques in social sciences, such as economics decision making theory etc.

Following the presentation there will be a short break with refreshments served.

PART TWO – 2.45 pm to 4 pm

After more than 50 years of service at CBS Professor Flemming Hansen econ.dr. becomes Professor Emeritus in August 2008. At the same time he joins the Center for Marketing Communications at the Department of Marketing as a consultant. He will be linked to the “Decision Neuroscience Project” which was initiated early 2008 in cooperation with the Danish Research Center for magnetic Resonance (DRCMR) at the Copenhagen University and Hvidovre Hospital.

Professor Flemming Hansen will present the research on communications and consumers behavior at CBS now and in the future.

There will also be presentations by the president of CBS and a representative from the Department of Marketing and the business world. At 4 pm after the program CBS hosts a reception.
