The 11th Chinese Bridge - Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students

Preliminary Round 2012

Denmark

Qualified Contestants:

College students under 30 years old with Danish nationality, born and raised in Denmark and whose mother tongue is not Chinese.

Rules of the Competition:

The competition is divided into three stages: Preliminary, Semi-Final and Final. Winners of the Preliminary Round will represent Danish college students and take part in the Semi-Final and Final Rounds in China. Return tickets together with the costs of meals, accommodation and transportation for the contestants are covered by the Chinese Bridge Committee in China. It is the fourth year we host this competition. We have sent Danish teams to China in the past three years, and they have got some wonderful experiences on trips to Beijing and Changsha.

Contents of the Competition:

1. Chinese language proficiency (listening, speaking, reading and writing ability);

2. Knowledge about China;

3. Chinese cultural performance (Chinese songs, music, dance, folk arts, acrobatics, musical instruments, calligraphy, painting, paper-cutting and kungfu, etc.)

Preliminary Round in Denmark: The Preliminary Round of the 11th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students will take place on May 1, 2012, beginning from 13:00.

Address: Sidevognen, Dalgas Have 15, 2000 Frederiksberg.

Sidevognen is on the ground floor, next to the canteen.

The Preliminary Round contains 3 sections:

1. Language Section: a speech on self-chosen topic related to China – 1 minute

2. Knowledge & Culture Section: Q&A – answer a few questions

3. Performance Section: China-themed performance – 3 minutes
