New Centre at CBS
With the official start 1.1.2005 Centre for Business and Development Studies (CBDS) is now a reality at CBS
The idea of establishing a Centre for Business and Development Studies at CBS is founded in domestic Danish as well as international developments that make business and development related issues increasingly relevant and pertinent both at the business and political level.
With the theme of business and development studies being present at CBS over a long period of time, the new Centre starts with a sound basis of established internal CBS resources and a well working network of external partners.
The CBDS is cross-departmental, open to all interested CBS researchers. The core team of researchers are from the Department of Intercultural Communication and Management (IKL), but also researchers from Department of International Economics and Management (INT), Department of Organization and Industrial Sociology (IOA), and Department of Operations Management (PEØ) will participate.
Research and teaching in business and development studies have been well integrated activities at CBS for more than 30 years. Over the years, the area has attracted substantial external funding – latest a DKK 4.5 million grant for research cooperation with universities in Vietnam - and large numbers of Danish and foreign students have graduated from the CMI Business and Development Studies programme. New developments for business and world development raise new challenges for research. Time has therefore come to enhance CBS’s activities on business and development and make them more visible by establishing a Centre for Business and Development Studies at CBS.
