The Danish Academy of Management – a new centre for Danish Management Research

LOK Research Centre, which from 1999-2006 has been dealing with Management, Organisation and Competence in smaller and medium size Danish companies, has taken the initiative to the creation of the Danish Academy of Management. This is a network collaboration between researchers from Danish universities that work with management and organisation, as well as people with an interest in the field.

The purpose of the Danish Academy of Management is to further and strengthen management as a discipline both nationally and internationally by stimulating research, education and practical management, as well as furthering the communication of knowledge within the management area. In relation to international research organisations the Danish Research Academy is modelled after the Academy of Management in the US.

“Though Danish researchers tend to participate in more international conferences and international publications, we still see a need for continued dialogue in Denmark among Danish researchers with focus on management and organisation. At the same time the intention with the Danish Management Academy is to create a forum where researchers and other staff “play” together”, Professor Flemming Poulfelt says.

The Secretariat for the Danish Management Academy is located at CBS and consists of Professor Flemming Poulfelt and Project Coordinator Kathrine Høeg. 

The organisation also consists of Professor Poul Rind Christensen and Professor John P. Ulhøi, the Business School in Århus, Professor Mette Mønsted and Professor Henrik Holt Larsen, CBS as well as CEO Jan Bendix, Bendix A/S.
