Former Polish minister at CBS
Newly appointed Assistant Professor: Jerzy Hausner
His political role was crucial with regard to Poland evolving into a democratic society. Jerzy Hausner has been appointed Assistant Professor at CBS, where he will be attached to the International Center for Business and Politics.
The most important person after Leszek Miller
In 1994, Jerzy Hausner was appointed as political advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister, and three years later he became Under Secretary of State, responsible for thoroughly reforming the entire Polish health and social system.
During the period 2001 to 2005, he was the Minister of Economy, Labour and Social Policy in Poland, and was also appointed Deputy Prime Minister, becoming the Government’s most important person, after Leszek Miller himself.
Political understanding of the new EU-member countries
At CBS, Jerzy Hausner will be especially involved in subjects such as political economy, public leadership, and public economy, with a particular emphasis on transitioning economies.
-Jerzy Hausner’s contribution to the International Center for Business and Politics will be his scientific and political understanding of the new EU-member countries’ transitioning economies in Eastern Europe. This is an obvious strong improvement of the Center’s research priorities in comparative political economy and international political economy, says the Director of the Center and Professor, Ove K. Pedersen.
A link between the Polish Government and the European Union
Jerzy Hausner was an advisor to the Polish Prime Minister regarding the national development plan. In this way, he put his own significant mark on Poland’s new social and health system, but he also became known for the important role he played as a link between the Polish Government and the European Union in Brussels.
