Torben Pedersen: Prolific writer in leading business and management journal

In 2008, readers of the American Journal of International Business Studies will get to know a professor from CBS very well.

The acknowledged journal will publish as many as four articles by Torben Pedersen from Center for Strategic Management and Globalization during 2008. No other Danish researcher has been able to achieve so much attention with so many articles published in the journal in one year, and even on a global scale, it is exceptional.

- Two-three years ago, I was very productive with these articles, which take relatively long time to write, explains Torben Pedersen, who has worked concurrently on the articles during the last few years.

Takes stock of research within internationalisation

The first article was published recently, and in this, Torben Pedersen and two other writers take stock of research within internationalisation.

Their finding is that research has focused too much on learning and experience based development and more or less fixed development plans. On the other hand, research has focused too little on company managers and what they can do to determine development trends. The three writers point to several subjects that they believe research should focus on in the future.

In 2008, readers can expect three other articles by Torben Pedersen.

- These are about, among other things, how subsidiaries of multinational corporations draw upon knowledge and other resources in their local environments; what the driving forces behind off-shoring of advanced and value creating activities are; and how companies can increase their knowledge of foreign markets, says Torben Pedersen

Journal of International Business Studies – an acknowledged journal

The Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) is one of the world’s leading journals within the field of business and management. If the journals are ranked according to impact score, JIBS ranks number eight within both areas.

The impact score expresses how often a journal is cited by researchers and thereby how great an influence it has among researchers. A rank of 8 is really good.
