Naalakkersuisut has set up The Economic Council and members are appointed

The Economic Council is composed of a chaimanship of six persons who are appointed by Naalakkersuisut. The Chairmanship is composed of a Chairman, a Vice Chairman and four council Members, three of whom are from Greenland and three from Denmark.

Apart from the Chairmanship The Economic Council is composed of Interest Organisations, the administration of Naalakkersuisut and Research Institutions

The Secretariatical functions are put in charge of the Department for Finances in Greenland and Danmarks Nationalbank.

The Council will perform current assessments of the development of business conditions and of the durability of the policiy of finance. On short terms the Council is expected also to advise Naalakkersuisut in connection to the preparation of a national economic model.

On long terms the Economic Council is expected to present statements and accounts on whether the policy of economics is leading to a higher degree of economic self sufficiency.
