The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) - Linkages to Poverty Reduction and Sustainability

The main objectives of this conference are:

  • to identify, analyse and discuss opportunities and limitations of CDM with regard to sustainability and poverty reduction, focusing on renewable energy, ‘sink’ projects and capacity development

  • with a basis in case studies, to discuss the success and impacts of different types CDM projects (or potential CDM projects) in different countries, taking as a starting point the requirement that CDM projects must support sustainable development

  • to identify research needs and provide recommendations for strategies for development assistance including the role of the Danish resource base.
