After decades at CBS Finn Hansson has decided to retire from his formal duties to a position as Emeritus Associate Professor

Friday, October 26, 2012 - 15:00 to 17:00

After decades at CBS Finn Hansson has decided to retire from his formal duties to a position as Emeritus Associate Professor. Finn’s long commitment and contribution to CBS in various capacities has made him a highly appreciated and resourceful colleague across the school and therefore it is with great pleasure we invite former partners, friends, family, and past, present and future colleagues to a farewell reception on

Friday, October 26, from 15:00-17:00

at Solbjerg Plads 3, Rotunden, 2nd fl.

We are looking forward to seeing you all!

Finn Hansson, mag.scient.soc. from Copenhagen University in 1975, and research librarian at CBS from 1983, and PhD in 2003 has been with MPP (Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy) as associate professor since 2000, and served as Study Director for the Social Science Master Programmes since 2005. He has a long engagement with Danish Sociology, where he has been focused on Marxist capitalism critique, and e.g. functioned as co-editor (with Aagaard Nielsen) for a volume on Danish Sociology's History (1996). He was actively engaged in student politics, with the journal Kurasje for which he served in editorial office from 1973 until the journal was discontinued (1986). Finn is our expert in research evaluation and has tried to make STS-research a part of MPP. He has in the Management Research Group at MPP contributed with research in  research evaluation, organisation of research, sociology of science and critical Marxist theory and has been part of large research projects.

We know Finn as a committed colleague with pioneering achievements in the work of setting up and developing the educational field of Social Science Masters at CBS. For many years Finn has also taken upon him the function of local shop steward operating always in a smooth and effective manner. He is an expert in finding solutions in a very discreet manner. We will miss his capacity to organize studies and conditions for staff, but look forward to working with him also in his new role as Emeritus Associate Professor.
