CBS recruits world-leading scholar in entrepreneurship

CBS and Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy (MPP) have recruited a world-leading scholar in entrepreneurship, professor William B. Gartner (Bill Gartner). From August 2013 Bill Gartner is professor of Entrepreneurship and the Art of Innovation at MPP.

CBS and Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy (MPP) have recruited a world-leading scholar in entrepreneurship, professor William B. Gartner (Bill Gartner). From August 2013 Bill Gardtner is professor of Entrepreneurship and the Art of Innovation at MPP. Bill Gartner, who has collaborated with professor Daniel Hjorth since many years, joins the Management & Entrepreneurship research group at MPP and will bring world class expertise to the Entrepreneurship Platform. His service to the entrepreneurship field has included two consecutive terms as Chair of the Academy of Management Entrepreneurship Division (1985 + 1986), special issue editorships for the Journal of Business Venturing (JBV) and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice (ETP), and Editorial Board memberships with the Academy of Management Review (AMR), Journal of Management (JOM), JBV, ETP, the Journal of Small Business Management (JSBM) and the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal (SEJ).

His research has been published in AMR, JBV, ETP, JOM, JSBM and SEJ; won awards from the Academy of Management, ETP, and the Babson-Kauffman Entrepreneurship Research Conference; and has been funded by the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, Coleman Foundation, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Small Business Administration, Small Business Foundation of America, Los Angeles Times, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Corporate Design Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.

In 2012 he received a Fellowship from the Batten Institute at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia to support his research and writing on “the rhetoric of entrepreneurial practice,” and received a four year grant from PACE, Aarhus University, Denmark to support research on the development of narrative theories and practices to enhance entrepreneurship pedagogy and training.
