China correspondent: Has China changed for the better?
Over the past decade China has seen dramatic economic development. But has China changed for the better? Jes Randrup, former China correspondent for Jyllands-Posten and the author of numerous books on China, will address this question. From 2005 until now he has reported home about the economy, environment, lifestyle and major events such as the Olympic Games in Beijing. Today he is on his way to settling in Denmark after 17 years abroad and is the head of Group Communications for DLG Group, one of Europe’s largest agricultural companies.

Meet Darrell West from the oldest and most quoted think tank
CBS gets a visit from the world’s oldest think tank, the Brookings Institution, represented by researcher Darrel West. He recently published a book on billionaires and the upper class, Billionaires: Reflections on the Upper Crust (2014,) but covers areas as broad as digitisation and the public sector. Attend his seminar on wealth, politics and democracy.

Is honest food packaging in the future possible?
Will honest food packaging be a competitive advantage in the future? The Department of International Business Communication is hosting a conference on how we can meet the food packing needs of consumers. The book, Fair Talk on Food Packaging (2015), written by, among others, Associate Professor Viktor Smith, will be presented. Representatives from COOP, the National Food Institute at the Technical University of Denmark, the Department at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and the Danish Consumer Council will also contribute to the debate.

McKinsey expert on urbanisation in China
In 2030 over one billion people will live in China’s cities, which will affect not only how cities are built but also provide an opportunity for developing cities that ensure economic growth and that are environmentally friendly. Jonathan Woetzel, director of the China department of the consulting firm McKinsey, has lived in Shanghai for 14 years. He is the author of several books on China and at today’s event he will provide insight into the practical experience he has with business strategies and urban development in China.

Margrethe Vestager visits CBS
Two prominent individuals from the European Commission will visit CBS; the European Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager, and her Finish boss and Vice President of the European Commission Jyrki Katainen, who is responsible for work, growth, investment and competition. Katainen is travelling to all of the member states to present the EU’s new investment plan.
