CCG Seminar w. Stefan Obernberger (Erasmus University Rotterdam)

Stefan Obernberger from Erasmus University Rotterdam will visit the Center for Corporate Governance at INT on March 9th to give a seminar about stock repurchases.

Stock repurchases by U.S. public firms have reached record levels and their drivers and effects on, for example, CEO pay or firm innovation are currently heavily debated among business leaders, policy makers, the media and academics (for example see the report “The Cannibalized Company” on reuters.com).

Stefan will mainly present results from the working paper “Actual Share Repurchases, Price Efficiency, and the Information Content of Stock Prices” (see attachment).

Stefan – who has a background in Corporate Finance – has written a number of papers on the topic some of which were published in outlets such as the Journal of Financial Economics.
