Meet CBS at the 2016 People’s Political Festival

The People’s Political Festival on Bornholm is a yearly reminder that Denmark’s open democracy is worth protecting and worthy of appreciation. The four-day event reflects this with the participation of opinion leaders, NGOs, universities and many others in numerous events. This year’s festival will be from 16 to 19 June.

Thesis salon: 10-minute recaps

CBS graduates are among the 30 young people who will present their thesis in just 10 minutes. Several blocks of time are set aside at the People’s Political Festival for recent graduates to talk about their thesis, what they’ve learned and how their knowledge can be used in the future.

Per Holten-Andersen, President, CBS will discuss what Denmark needs to do to have more women in top positions in Danish research and industry, as well as how various stakeholders can contribute. Denmark ranks high on global confidence surveys. Various researchers point out that this high level of confidence is one of the reasons that Denmark, as a small country, is one of the most prosperous in the world. The question, however, is whether we are taking care of the family silver, or whether we are frittering it away on control mechanisms and documentation.
Copenhagen Science Slam

Stay updated on the latest research when three researchers, Anker Brink Lund, CBS, Troels C. Petersen, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen and David Bue Pedersen, Technical University of Denmark take part in a duel on the ability to disseminate information. The audience gets to decide who wins, which means the researchers must use creative and crooked means to ensure they get a vote. Stand up comedian Lasse Rimmer is the moderator.

The referendum in the UK threatens the EU’s cohesion, and in Denmark there is scepticism towards the EU. What impact will a ‘No’ on 23 June have on the EU, and what can we expect in Denmark?
