Researchers at the head of Danish financial supervision

Two CBS-researchers are now at the head of the Danish financial supervision. Associate professor at CBS' Department of Finance, Henrik Ramlau-Hansen, is newly appointed chairman of the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, Finanstilsynet, by the Minister for Business and Growth, Troels Lund Poulsen (V).

The appointment of Henrik Ramlau-Hansen is according to a press release issued by the ministry based on his extensive experience in the financial sector both in the bank and pension area as well as his many years of management experience.
Henrik Ramlau-Hansen expresses excitement in taking up the position as chairman of the board. He also explains the societal importance of the work performed by the Danish FSA:

“A well-functioning supervisory authority contributes to a high level of trust when customers take financial decisions. At the same time we are facing new challenges such as low interest rates and increased digitalization, which also have a significant effect on the financial sector. In this context, it is important to have an effective financial supervisory authority and I am looking forward to contributing to this with the rest of the board members and directors of the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority”, says Henrik Ramlau-Hansen in the press release.

The board also counts another faculty member at the Department of Finance, Professor David Lando, who has been re-elected for the position as deputy chairman.
