Qualifications and dedication lead CBS graduates to excellent employment opportunities

At this moment, many young people decide on an education to apply to. It will influence the next five years of their lives as students, but will also be of significant importance to their success in entering the job market.
Statistics show that students with a diploma from CBS quickly secure employment. Wilbert van der Meer, Head of the Dean’s Office, Education, explains this by referring to the graduates’ qualifications and dedication.
“First and foremost, CBS gives you a solid theoretical basis for an exciting job. You deal with authentic problems and learn how to work across different disciplines,” he says.
 
A study of unemployment among CBS graduates who completed their studies in 2015 reveals that 79 per cent had a job three months after they graduated.
An unemployment rate of 21 per cent among CBS graduates is low compared to the level of unemployment among graduates from other Danish universities, of whom the average is 30 per cent. The longer the time since graduates submitted their thesis, the lower the unemployment rate.

Interest and dedication are vital

Wilbert van der Meer has one piece of advice to the young people who are going to enter higher education:
“Pick a study programme through which you can work with and become good at something that you find interesting - both during and after your studies. Interest and dedication will decide your future job opportunities.”
