My research interests are at the intersection of organization studies, economic sociology, and science and technology studies. I build on the sociomateriality of markets and organizations—the social and the material entities are fused—to study financial markets and organizations in the financial industry. In particular, I am interested in investigating the transformation of the financial markets and organizations due to electronization of marketplaces and adoption of automated trading systems. Currently I am conducting research on the changes in financial markets including organizations such as stock and derivatives exchanges (e.g., the New York Stock Exchange and Chicago Mercantile Exchange) after electronization. Methodologically, I employ both quantitative and qualitative methods including computerized text analysis of interview transcripts as a mixed method approach.
