Anne-Marie Skov, Executive Director of the Tuborg Foundation, to be appointed new adjunct professor at CBS

Change is a chronic condition for management and employees in companies all over the world. Anne-Marie Skov, Executive Director of the Tuborg Foundation, will be appointed new adjunct professor at CBS. On this occasion, she will give her inaugural lecture about this topic. Having spent 30 years being responsible for communication and sustainability in a number of global companies (Carlsberg, Novo Nordisk, Novozymes and the Tuborg Foundation), Anne-Marie Skov will share her thoughts on the importance of establishing a connection between purpose, strategy and company identity during complex processes of change.

New adjunct professor to present the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s latest strategy

Lars Rebien Sørensen, Chairman of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, will be appointed new adjunct professor at the Center for Corporate Governance at CBS. The Novo Nordisk Foundation has just presented a new strategy for its future activities, which will be the point of departure for Lars Rebien Sørensen’s inaugural lecture. Lars Rebien Sørensen will talk about the foundation’s development and thoughts about their societal role and impact in the years to come.
Lars Rebien Sørensen is the former CEO of Novo Nordisk and was named the world’s best CEO by Harvard Business in 2015 and 2016.

The value-creating leader’s toolbox

What does specialist literature and practice tell us about management dilemmas? Which tools are relevant in the identification of organisational dilemmas? A number of researchers have tried to answer these questions through interviews with 50 managers in 11 companies. At the event, you can meet Assistant Professor Mette Mogensen, Professor Emeritus Henrik Holt Larsen and Associate Professor Frans Bévort. A number of management experts and business community representatives will participate in this conference, among which DanChurchAid, Ørsted and ISS will deliver a lecture. The conference is a result of the project ”Ledelses-GPS til en ny tid: Fra komfortzone til konkurrencekraft” (Management GPS for a new era: from comfort zone to competitive power) funded by the Danish Industry Foundation.

Peterson has become an important and influential person, especially because of his book Twelve Rules for Life – An Antidote to Chaos. At this event, Ole Bjerg, Associate Professor at CBS, will elaborate on some of Peterson’s ideas of different topics relevant to society, e.g. power, gender and postmodernity. Ole Bjerg will also focus on why and how Peterson has reached this level of popularity world-wide.

Margrethe Vestager to launch three new research platforms at CBS

EU Commissioner Margrethe Vestager will be keynote speaker at the joint launch of three research platforms at CBS; Diversity and Difference, Transformations and Inequality are the themes and titles of the three platforms. Invited speakers will also address the three themes. The speakers include Jens Bjørn Andersen, CEO of the global transportation and logistics company DSV and directors of the think tanks Cevea and Cepos, Kristian Weise and Otto Brøns-Petersen and the people behind the new media start-up Zorter, Morten Tvorup Olesen and Mohammad Imad Honeini. Media artists from the IT University of Copenhagen will provide art for the reception.

Is it possible to tail a robot? A talk with Associate Professor Elena Raviola

How do we trace the actions of robots? How do we keep track of them, and is it possible to tail a robot? Associate Professor Elena Raviola from the University of Gothenburg will hold a lecture about how automation (often through robots) is used in a professional setting. Robot studies are often based on ethical questions related to how labour is redistributed between humans and robots.
Elena Raviola will introduce the preliminary ideas and results of the current robot study. CBS’ research platform Transformations is hosting the event.

At his inaugural lecture, Adjunct Professor Hugh Wilmott will talk about ’The Significance of Craft for Research in Business and Management’. After the lecture, the Department of Management, Society and Communication will host a reception.
Hugh Wilmott is professor of management at Cass Business School Research, City University. He has written several books and articles about organisational theory and management.
