PhD defence: Kai Inga Basner
Servitization is a competitive strategy whereby companies combine products and services to form new offerings. Using a pragmatic approach, this dissertation explores how servitization is at work in a Western industrial company, despite the challenges associated with it. The findings are presented in three articles, showing that servitization at work is not a definite thing with clear boundaries, rather it is a dynamically unfolding process that is marked by proliferation and containment.
