Highlights of 2019:
Financial situation
CBS’ results for 2019 is a profit of DKK 58m which shows an increase in CBS’ basic research funding of almost DKK 68m in 2019. In the long term, this increase will be converted to more research and education activities – and CBS can boost new strategic ambitions. CBS still plans to bring down own funds and is budgeting for a deficit in the years 2021-2023.
Education
CBS has carried out a full analysis of the competences a CBS graduate must possess in future and this analysis has resulted in the Nordic Nine – a number of capabilities which reflect priorities typical of a Nordic society. These efforts will be included in the future strategy of CBS.
The number of CBS courses in innovation and entrepreneurship has been increasing in the past year and this reflects a wish to link the students’ experience with having their own company even more to their academic learning, allowing these two things to underpin one another.
Research
In 2019 CBS attracted external funding of DKK 133m which is the third highest annual amount so far, only surpassed by 2012 and 2018. Additionally, CBS has enhanced international recruitment of top talents by making a new and joint model for tenure track to ensure that assistant professors who meet special quality requirements have prospects of permanent employment as associate professor.
