PhD defence: Niels Fuglsang
What happens to the economy if the politicians cut taxes or raise social benefits? The Danish Finance Ministry’s economic forecasting models play an increasingly important role for policy making when they are used to analyze the effects of different policies. The thesis investigates how the models have developed, how they both enable and constrain policy makers, and how the models are overtly objective and covertly political.
