Carlsberg Foundation grants for CBS researchers

The Carlsberg Foundation, one of the world's oldest commercial foundations, has awarded nearly DKK 18 million to twelve CBS researchers.

All twelve CBS research grants were awarded on the basis of a thorough academic assessment of the 589 applications received, and stem from the researchers' own scientific ideas and project proposals that will bring new research to a diverse range of topics.

The grants include three Carlsberg Foundation Young Researcher Fellowships: ‘What is coolness and how can we create it? Understanding coolness and its important implications for business and society’ from Florian Kock. ‘Corporate Subjects: An Intellectual History of the Corporation’ from Mathias Hein Jessen and ‘PAINT: Multilevel Pathways for Integrating Marginalized Groups’ from Vera Rocha.

“I am delighted that research at CBS has been recognized in this manner, and I’m convinced that the funds will be converted into research with impact on business and society. The twelve recipients are at five different departments, showing that a wide range of disciplines are represented,” says Dean of Research, Søren Hvidkjær.

Out of the total amount of DKK 456 million from the Carlsberg Foundation, 256 million went to the natural sciences, 98 million to the humanities and 102 million to the social sciences.
