Presentation

My research interests are in the area of multi-national firms operating in emerging economies and developing countries with a particular focus on market entry and the determinants of subsidiary performance in an African context. My research on market entry concentrates on early entry strategies and organisational inertia, and research on subsidiary performance has focused on the importance of experiential learning. Based on my extensive international managerial career, I strive to conduct my research in a participative form by working closely with key stakeholders to understand complex business issues.

Primary research areas
  • International business
  • Firm strategy, organization and management in emerging markets
  • Foreign direct investment in and from developing countries
  • Subsidiary performance
