Presentation

My research focuses on how private actors and commercial interests influence and shape foreign aid. Overall, I address this theme from two perspectives: donor countries and firms/private actor groups. At the country level,  I investigate how trade interests influence the allocation of foreign aid. At the organizational level, I look at how interest groups such as labor organizations and business organizations influence the political decision-making process. Lastly, I explore how firms react to commercially motivated foreign aid and whether it affects their internationalization strategies. I address these questions using mixed methods, historical perspectives, and institutional approaches.

I have a double MSc in Public Management and Social Development from the Sino-Danish Research Center in Beijing and previous work experience as a policy officer in the Danish Ministry of Finance.
