Seminar: The Future of Corporate Taxation in a Globalized and Digitized World

The seminar is presented by Copenhagen Business School in cooperation with the University of Copenhagen and the University of Leeds and will be held at Solbjerg Plads Campus, Auditorium SPs07.

CBS
Wednesday, May 8, 2019 - 15:00 to 17:00

Corporate taxation, particularly taxation of multinational groups, is a heavily debated topic in these years, and legislators, international organizations, NGOs, lobbyists and academics all take part in these discussions. At this seminar, speakers will present and discuss a number of alternative proposals that focus on improving the international corporate tax regime, which is currently challenged by aggressive tax planning and the ongoing digitization of the economy.

The keynote speaker is Professor Rita de la Feria from the University of Leeds (please see the short biography below), who will present how a destination-based corporate tax could be implemented as a suitable alternative to taxing corporations in an international setting. The seminar will also feature Associate Professor Peter Koerver Schmidt and PhD Fellow Louise Fjord Kjærsgaard, both from CBS Law, who will address the alternative solutions that currently flourish in the EU and in the OECD. Finally, Head of Tax Henrik Meldgaard from Ramboll, and Leading Senior Tax Policy Adviser Sune Hein Bertelsen from the Confederation of Danish Industry will provide a practical business perspective on the alternative solutions.

After the seminar, CBS Law will host a small reception including drinks and snacks.
Participation is free of charge but registration is needed. Please send an email to seminar.jur@cbs.dk before 3 May 2019 if you wish to participate.
