Presentation

I am associate professor at Copenhagen Business School, specializing in Danish business and cultural history. My research explores how organizations and institutions use history to shape identity, strategy, and legitimacy. I am particularly interested in the intersection of business history and cultural narratives, analyzing how historical storytelling influences organizations, industries, and national identities.

Since joining CBS in 2010, I have taught and coordinated courses across undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. levels. I am also an active public speaker and a frequent presenter at academic conferences. From 2021 to 2025, I served as editor-in-chief of Management & Organizational History.

My latest books include Børsen (2024), a historical account of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange, and Maleriets forbandelse (2023), an exploration of autoethnography as historical method that blends personal reflection with traditional historical research.

Primary research areas
  • Uses of history in organizations (for branding, strategy, and legitimacy)
  • Danish business- and cultural history
  • National identity and economic institutions
  • Autoethnography and historical method
