Presentation and academic fields

Jelena Cerar is an Assistant Professor at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. She obtained her doctoral degree in international business and strategy from the WU Vienna (Austria) and her Master's degrees in economics from the Erasmus Mundus EGEI program (China, Belgium, and Italy). She currently serves as a Vice President - Communications & Social Media of the Research Methods Special Interest Group of the Academy of International Business and is a mentor of the AIB-CIBER Doctoral Academy.     

Jelena’s main research areas are decision-making and behavioral strategy in MNCs (primarily focusing on the role of AI, digitalization, and cognition in strategic decision-making), headquarters-subsidiary relations, and IB research methods (especially laboratory and field experiments). Her research has been published in highly ranked international journals, such as the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, and Journal of International Management, and received several awards and nominations from the Academy of International Business and the Academy of Management.
