Entrepreneurship and Digital Government

Perfect Match or Dead End? Former Executive Director for the US 18F Program and Presidential Innovation Fellow Greg Godbout will give a stimulating talk on how the Silicon Valley spirit is changing US government by a heavy injection of digital entrepreneurship.

Wednesday, October 5, 2016 - 13:30 to 15:00

CBS Entrepreneurship

In 2012 Greg Godbout left his position in the private sector to join the Presidential Innovation Fellow team. The Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF) program pairs top innovators from the private sector, non-profits, and academia with top innovators in government to collaborate during focused 6-13 month “tours of duty” to develop solutions that can save lives, save taxpayer money, and fuel job creation. Greg led the team of PIFs and other Federal Government innovators that founded 18F inside the GSA and thereafter became the Executive Director of 18F. 18F introduced a new and different approach for building and delivering software for Government.

Greg will tell how 18F was created solely to drive transformation in how government uses it. Focusing on how to deliver effective, user-centric digital services that support the interaction between government and the people and businesses it serves.
