CBS will host Partnership2012 - Business + NGO in June 2012. The conference takes place at CBS from the 10th to the 12th of June. CBS Public-Private Platform is one of the sponsors behind the conference.

Partnerships are everywhere. Representatives from the profit and non-profit sector are increasingly acknowledging that no single actor can solve all societal problems alone.

To quote former UN Secretary-General and keynote at the conference, Kofi Annan: “In today’s world, we depend on each other“. In other words, partnerships are increasingly seen as a panacea for solving the world’s social, environmental and economic problems, whether we are talking about climate change, hunger, inequality, poverty and pollution.

However, partnerships are not without challenges. Partnerships often lack commitment from top management, the interests of the involved parties sometimes collide and the implementation can be burdensome and cause conflicts.

Therefore, more knowledge is needed in order to understand how partnerships work and can be improved. Such knowledge will enable businesses and NGOs to better design, implement, maintain, and develop fruitful collaboration that benefits both business and society.
