Professor presents 20 m long wall illustration of the financial crisis

Which initiatives can prevent the impact of future financial crises? Professor and Director of the Center for Financial Frictions (FRIC) at CBS, David Lando gives his lecture Why can’t regulation curtail financial crises?, when Copenhagen hosts the most prestigious international scientific congress; the Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) in June.

Alongside the congress, the Science in the City festival is kicked off at the Carlsberg City District.

At the festival, Professor David Lando presents a wall illustration to shed light on how the financial world always have sought to steer clear of regulation in creative ways. And how the seemingly best solution for one crisis became the foundation for the next. The event is taking place on 21 June at 13:00 and is one of several events arranged by CBS.
 
Science Slam and Dragon’s Den
You can also witness three scientists challenge each other in a battle of wits in a new and innovative format, the Science Slam. The selection of the winner is not only based on their research, but on their ability to command the stage.
Scientists from the Technical University of Denmark, the University of Copenhagen and CBS will be battling and the Danish comedian Lasse Rimmer will host the show.

Or you can step into the Dragon’s Den and feel the fiery intensity as entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas to investors in this CBS version of the popular television phenomena.

Show up and become inspired while entrepreneurs with a burning passion challenge each other and themselves in order to convince the panel of judges and obtain the means to realise their business dreams.
