MBA case competition offers new ideas for Chr. Hansen
A rewarding day
On Tuesday 1 March, the current MBA class showed up at Chr. Hansen, ready to get to work on a challenging case competition for its Color Division. It was a tough business case that Chr. Hansen had prepared, but the students were able to leverage their shared pool of expertise and experiences and rose to the task ahead.
“It was rewarding to interact with such a great Danish company and their willingness to share a day and a case with us MBA students goes a long way in showing their authenticity. Meeting Chr. Hansen executives on home turf in their own professional context really showcased the high caliber of their people,” said participating student Matt Harland.
Ideas and angles to use in the future
Per Sommer, Business Development Director for Chr. Hansen’s Color Division, introduced the case competition to an engaged MBA audience in the morning. After that, the students set out to work, exploring ideas and strategies in smaller groups. The day culminated with a presentation where each group shared their recommended strategies with Chr. Hansen.
“We challenged the students with – speaking frankly – quite a difficult case into a new commercial area, and were truly impressed by their interest, their energetic response and the amount of relevant questions posed throughout the day. The final group presentations offered new ideas and angles that we will undoubtedly use for inspiration in the future.”
