Abstract:
The link between publicly funded research and national growth has been widely discussed by academic scholars and policy makers. Often, the link has been analyzed in economic terms, arguing that investments in public research should be consideredin terms of their contribution to industrial competitiveness. This project suggests that to companies public research have a diversity of roles that are at least as important as competitiveness. These roles are explored empirically in Danish companies
