Guest lecture by Dr. Peter Lorange President, IMD arranged by CBS Exeutive.

In his presentation Peter Lorange will talk about developing implementable strategies for shipping firms. He will also address the global nature of competition in shipping, as well as, the volitality of shipping markets and how to play these markets.

Dr. Peter Lorange has been the President of IMD since July 1, 1993. He is Professor of Strategy and holds the Nestlé Chair. He has conducted

extensive research on: Multinational management, Strategic planning processes, and Internally generated growth processes.

He was formerly president of the Norwegian School of Management in Oslo.Before this, Dr. Lorange was affiliated with the Wharton School,

University of Pennsylvania, for more than a decade, in various assignments, including director of the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies, and The William H. Wurster Center for International Management Studies, as well as The William H. Wurster Professor of Multinational Management. He has also taught for 8 years at the Sloan School of Management (M.I.T.).

Dr. Lorange received his undergraduate education from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business, was awarded an MA degree in operations management from Yale University, and his Doctor of Business Administration degree from Harvard University.

Dr. Lorange has written or edited 15 books and some 110 articles. He serves on the board of directors of several corporations including: Christiania Eiendomsselskap, S. Ugelstad Shipowners, StreamServe, Zaruma Resources Inc, Preferred Global Health and Seaspan Corporation. He is also a board member of IMD and of the Copenhagen Business School.
