CBS has appointed Peter Skærbæk, Professor of Public Sector Accounting and Auditing.

Peter Skærbæk will be associated with the Department of Operations Management. To mark this occasion, the Department of Operations Management invites you to attend Peter Skærbæk’s inaugural lecture.

About Peter Skærbæk

Peter Skærbæk holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration (cand.merc.) from Copenhagen Business School, and a PhD in Management Accounting also from Copenhagen Business School.

Peter has conducted several detailed field studies and ethnographies of the implementation of various accounting forms in the public sector. He has theorized accounting not just in more conventional accounting terms, but he has also used sociology and especially actor-network theory to study how accounting is developed and used.

Recently his interest has been to study how accounting and auditing influence the identities of actors in a variety of empirical settings. He has participated in several international research projects and has, so far, published more than 40 publications of which 7 articles have been published in leading international accounting journals.
