The inauguration of Center for Applied ICT

Reception

Wednesday, March 7, 2007 - 15:00 to 17:00

Reception to celebrate the inauguration of Center for Applied ICT at Copenhagen Business School.

Center for Applied ICT has taken off with a flying start with a portfolio of research projects that exceed 70 million DKK of which 20 million DKK are grants dedicated to research at the center.

Among our global partners are Microsoft, IBM, SAP, ARLA, Heineken, United Paper Mill (Finland), Mahindra & Mahindra (India), DR, Dagbladet Børsen and the Danish Consumer Agency.

The core research portfolio includes four large projects 3gERP, ITAIDE, eSANGATHAN and DREAMS. Our work spans from designing next generation ERP systems to collaborative working communities and co-creation of advanced mobile services.

”Today the collaboration between business and academia is either very casual or strict in the form of very close collaboration in R&D projects. The CAICT wishes to explore the middle ground with continued and mutual beneficial affiliation between the center and business through partnering. This is well known in the USA where research centers often have 20 - 50 companies affiliated which allows access to researchers and the latest research results with ICT”, says Center Director Jan Damsgaard.

Center for Applied ICT is initiated by Professor Jan Damsgaard (center director), Professor Niels Bjørn-Andersen, Professor Janni Nielsen and Associate Professor Leif Bloch Rasmussen. The center already has 15 employees and expects to have 20 by the end of 2007. The center is an independent entity located in the same building as Department of Informatics. CAICT reports directly to the new research dean at CBS.
