Award for Denmark’s Mr. Human Resource
Professor Henrik Holt Larsen receives DEA’s business research award
An institution and a powerhouse that through widespread action has, more than anyone else, contributed to the development of private businesses and the public sector’s understanding and activity within Human Resources—this is just part of the reason for the selection of Professor Henrik Halt Larsen for DEA’s Business Research Prize for Society and Business 2007.
The award is given to researchers who have contributed to improving companies’ innovation and competitiveness within the realm of society and business.
The man behind HRM education
As well as developing groundbreaking new knowledge and methods within HRM, Henrik Holt Larsen is the principal organiser and manager of the only two HRM masters programmes in Denmark. He is credited with achieving a complete change in the mindset of both the research world and Danish businesses in relation to introducing HRM as a strategic focus area.
Growth, innovation, and a better bottom line
Henrik Holt Larsen, from the Department for Organisation, shares this year’s prize of 200,000.00 DKK with Professor Klaus Grunert from Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus.
- When the prize is shared, it isn’t because we are trying to avoid conflicts. It is because we are dealing with two excellent researchers who, in very different and completely incomparable ways, have succeeded in moving companies in the right direction—towards greater growth, innovation and a better bottom line, says Lars Nørby Johansen, chairman of the award committee.
The previous person from CBS to receive this award was Professor Jan Mouritsen from the Department of Operations Management, who received the award in 2005.
The reasons behind the decision
Henrik Holt Larsen has been awarded DEA’s Business Research Award for Society and Business on the basis of his comprehensive work that benefits both research and business life. His work is very broad and has had a crucial influence in relation to the creation of new knowledge. His work has been widely published and includes extensive scientific publications that have made a substantial contribution to innovation and competitiveness within HRM in Danish companies, in both the private and public sectors.
