CBS professor joins growth forum

Jan Rose Skaksen is a member of the Danish government’s Growth Forum

Researchers as well as key industry leaders have joined the government's Growth Forum.

Among those is Jan Rose Skaksen from the Department of Economics, who primarily works with economic policies and the implications of globalisation. He is also a former economic advisor.

The new Growth Forum is to act as advisor to the government in the year to come.

Getting Denmark through the crisis

The objective is to get Denmark through the current financial crisis as well as preparing the Danish economy for renewed growth.

In the task description, it is stated that ”we have to prepare the Danish society so that we will be ready for renewed growth once the international economy is picking up again. We have to strengthen the Danish growth model and ensure that we are ready to create new jobs in the future”.

The Growth Forum is initiating its work at a meeting in late September 2009.

The government’s Growth Forum consists of 31 members, including the Danish Prime Minister, the Minister for Economic and Business Affairs, the Foreign Minister and the Minister of Finance. To see a list of all the members, go to the website of the Prime Minister’s Office.
