Continuity and renewal, comprised entity and synergy
Faculty of Languages, Communication and Cultural Studies improves its profile
From having 3 institutes named Department of Computational Linguistics, Department of English and Department of French, Italian, Russian, Spanish and German, CBS? Faculty of Business Language now consists of 2 departments Department of International Language Studies and Knowledge Technology and Department of International Culture and Communications Studies.
Much more than language
The Faculty is much more than language and linguistics, which the previous department titles did not indicate.
Dean Søren Barlebo Rasmussen, who is in charge of the restructuring of the faculty, says that the future holds continuity and renewal, comprised entity and synergy and has in that connection named two new heads of departments as driving forces behind them.
"I have great expectations to this n w team of people, who encompass the
changes that CBS faces in the next few years with their mix of network,
professionalism and ability to manage people. The transformation of the Faculty of Business Language is just the first step in a big transformation process in which as per 2007 there will no longer be a sharp division of the Business Economical and the Business
Language areas at the school. On the contrary it will be a comprised entity with close synergy between the different subject areas" Søren Barlo Rasmussen explains.
The two new heads of departments
Alex Klinge, MA in Translation and Interpretation from CBS, will on June 23rd be defending his thesis ?The Structure of English Nominals? has been named Head of Department for Department of International Language Studies and Knowledge Technology. Klinge being the right choice for the position for his scientific background and his many professional contracts and networks.
Continuin the development at Department of International Culture and Communications Studies is Anette Villemoes, MA in Translation and Interpretation from CBS, and previously Head of Department of French, Italian, Russian, Spanish and German. Villemoes has great experience in management; ability to forge changes and is a great communicator at an
