Creativity and real life experience is highly valued in the IB programme not just by professors, but also by students. IB lecturer Mark Payne's creative approach to financial accounting and teaching earned this year's "Best Teacher Award" in the BSc IB programme at CBS.

Every year, the IB students' nominate and vote for the best teacher to honour those who contribute to the quality of the programme in an outstanding way. It is a way to show the teachers that motivating and engaging lectures are valued. Lectures that give the extra "something" that makes the course relevant and interesting.

Student representatives on the IB Study Board Ingrid, Lasse, and Ida were assigned the task to reward Mark who was nominated because of his enthusiasm and creative way of teaching.

One of the comments Mark received from the students' evaluations was that they greatly appreciated his "experience from the real world" which they felt lifted the course to a higher level.

Also nominated were:

Stefan Schwarzkopf (Principles of Marketing) because of his very engaging style of teaching, which the students seemed to thoroughly enjoy "

Ken Bechmann (Corporate Finance) for his ability to win "complete respect from the whole class from the start".

Per Hansen (Business Research Methodology) for his "long lasting impression on his students".
