CBS Case Competition 2008

When a business is already successful, how does it become even more successful? This will be the theme of this year’s CBS Case Competition, “Excellence2 – Where do you go from success?” in which competing students will have the opportunity to make suggestions on how a given business can make use of its potential to become even better in its field. The cases and the businesses are still a secret but they will be published on Wednesday, 27 February, when the competition starts. The students will then have 32 hours to frame their suggestions, which will be presented to the judging panel on Friday, 29 February.

Students from all over the world

The competitive teams will consist of students from, for instance, Thailand, Canada, Australia, China, and the US. The last time Danish students won the competition was in 2004 and this year’s team believe that they can do the same.

- We are all four very strong analytically, which we believe will get us far in the competition, says Michal Nielsen, BSc in Economics and Business Administration, CBS.

- In addition, we are all very ambitious, which has resulted in a really good cooperation, both professionally and socially, he emphasises.

More than just a nice prize

The winners of the competition will receive more than just the honour and the trophy. In connection with the competition, the students will make contact with sponsors and business associates, which will constitute an important network in future. Michal Nielsen adds:

- I am really proud to put this competition on my CV, and it will definitely strengthen my position in terms of future jobs.
