PRESS RELEASE

Copenhagen Business School is the first business school in Scandinavia to receive an accreditation from the American organisation AACSB

Through several years, CBS has worked hard to achieve the prestigious AACSB accreditation and become one of the leading business schools in the world. With the AACSB accreditation, CBS has now obtained the so-called Triple Crown, which besides the AACSB includes the European EQUIS and the British AMBA accreditations.

Only 43 business schools in the world hold all three accreditations, and besides CBS in the North, only Aalto University in Finland is entitled to the Triple Crown. With that, CBS has now joined a prominent group that includes top schools such as London Business School, INSEAD, IMD and Warwick University.

- This accreditation is a visible proof that CBS is a world-class business school, says Acting President Alan Irwin.

In connection with this accreditation, AACSB's experts have scrutinised CBS' strategy and the quality of CBS' researchers, lecturers and programmes.

Better international opportunities for researchers and students

The actual process has taken four years, but according to Alan Irwin, the efforts have been worth while.

- With this accreditation, CBS is in a very strong position to attract foreign researchers, lecturers and students. The American quality seal is of crucial importance in the USA, but to an increasing extent also in Asia, he says.

The accreditation is particularly important outside the borders of Denmark and can be helpful to students who are striving for an international career. To many companies in the US, the accreditation is a guarantee that the quality of the programmes is high and that the student performs from day one. To Danish and foreign companies, this accreditation is a proof that the education and research that take place at CBS is of the highest international quality, says Alan Irwin.

- The accreditation and the fact that the international organisation Eduniversal for the 4th year in a row places CBS in the top 3 among more than 250 business schools in Western Europe demonstrates that CBS is very well ranked as an internationally recognised business school. That CBS is able to obtain this quality seal despite the low funding levels, makes the accreditation even more remarkable, says Alan Irwin.
