No more missing receipts
A good idea gives CBS students a place in the Venture Cup finale
-You pull one crumpled receipt out of your bag after the other. The only receipt missing is the one for your new shirt that has just torn.
It was situations like this that caused Christian Ulrik Jordt and his fellow student, Emanuel Schwartz, to think creatively.
The resulting idea was SafeReceipt, a programme that registers purchase receipts via your regular payment card, saving the receipts on a website.
- Consumers will be able to use the card in all shops so the idea will have a decisive influence on the way we shop, says Christian who is studying for his Master of Social Science Degree in Business Economics and Management at CBS.
From idea to a successful business
The two entrepreneurs have already been in contact with one of the largest credit card companies on the market regarding a possible cooperation. The idea is that the new registering function will be incorporated into current payment cards.
The idea has just reached the regional finals in the "Venture Cup" competition in which students have the opportunity to try their entrepreneur skills and test whether their ideas could become a successful business. During the competition, students receive coaching and feedback from a professional panel of judges.
Attention provides new energy
At the moment, Christian and Emanuel are trying to fit exams, student jobs, and SafeReceipt into their diaries, but the competition has given them new energy to work with SafeReceipt.
- The more attention and the more encouraging comments we get from business people and advisers, the more energy we get to work with our business strategy. During the last three weeks, the project has made great progress, says Christian.
He looks forward to January when his diary clears from exams and studies so that he can focus exclusively on the project. At the moment, the two partners are exploring the possibility of taking out a patent for the idea, which they have been advised to do by one of the panel judges that they met during the competition.
