No more study places at CBS
Entry requirements for 2011
This year, CBS has experienced a significant increase in the number of applicants for the university's bachelor programmes. The results from this year's admission show that the GPA's required for entry have followed despite small year groups and an increase in the number of study places.
Among the most popular programmes in Denmark
Once again CBS' programmes are among the most popular programmes on entry requirements list. The International Business Programme holds the highest GPA in the country. 11.2, even though this programme has raised the number of study places. International Business and Politics is also at the high end with a GPA of 10.5. The admission figures show that a GPA of 6.5 is required to receive a study place at CBS this year.
New rules, higher entry requirements
- The tendency towards higher entry requirements is partly caused by an increase in the number of applicants. But it is also a result of the scheme in which a Danish student is allowed to increase his/her GPA by taking an extra course at advanced level (A-level) at the upper secondary school and by beginning his/her studies immediately, explains Annette Juhl Hansen, Director of the Programme Administration Services.
According to Annette Juhl Hansen, this means that there will be more Danes than foreigners in the English-taught programmes.
CBS has increased the number of study places, but a further increase is impossible, as CBS needs funding to appoint more researchers. Furthermore, the classroom capacity does not allow more places.
