Karls Research Project - Executive Summary
Out of a perspective that acknowledges a certain uniqueness of Art-Organisations and Universities, questions concerning adequate leadership- and organisational-concepts and methods arise. As there are unique similarities between Art-Organisations and Universities, especially when looking at them by asking what they really do, similar issues arise. Both target a higher aim, work with raw materials different to that regular business does (basically text and/ or picture), are critical about forms of experiences and are engaged in extraordinary productions for a kind of audience (some even argue for dealing with Universities as Art-Organisations). Authenticity, improvisation, experts in organisations and the production of criticism can be found as crucial.
This project targets on potentials in how universities might learn from Art-Organisations in how they conceptualise themselves (A further project might go beyond this basically theoretical approach).
