Research prize given to Susan Christofferson from the Department of Finance

Susan Christoffersen, a visiting Professor at CBS, has been awarded the prestigious finance research prize by the Swiss Finance Institute? the 2007 Outstanding Paper Award.

Susan Christoffersen will share the 15,000 CHF prize with Sergei Sarkissian from McGill University.

Their research concerns investment funds. The conclusion they have reached is that employees in investment funds in large cities, with large financial sectors, are better at investing clients' money than employees in investment funds in smaller cities.

- In a big city, you are in contact with a lot more people from many different businesses. You have a broader network and you share ideas and information with more people, Susan Christoffersen explains.

The Swiss Finance Institute is a private fund, which was established in 2006 by the Swiss world of banking and finance in cooperation with leading Swiss universities.
